Hi there,

It’s wonderful to connect with you for another Moments For Me. As I write this it is snowing in Wales, an early blast of the winter to come! This week, let’s focus on my favourite positive psychology concept: choosing compassion instead of self-criticism.


Moment #1: Self-Compassion 💛

When you notice self-critical thoughts, gently remind yourself that everyone makes mistakes and give yourself the compassion you would give to a friend. Shifting to self-compassion reduces negative self-talk, helping you build a kinder relationship with yourself over time.

Moment #2: Authentic Living 🌱

Today, speak to yourself as you would to a friend facing the same challenges. Authenticity grows when we’re honest and gentle with ourselves, reminding ourselves that we're all imperfect humans! This makes it easier to embrace all parts of who we are.

Moment #3: Simple, Loving Act 🕯️

Take a few moments today to give yourself a genuine compliment. Celebrating your strengths and qualities reinforces positive self-regard, which gradually reduces your inner critic’s hold.
