Introduction to Positive Psychology

We began our journey by introducing Positive Psychology as the scientific study of what makes life worth living.

Instead of dwelling on our flaws, Positive Psychology focuses on recognising our strengths and building upon them to lead a more fulfilling life.

Practical Steps for Boosting Happiness and Fulfillment

  1. Practice Gratitude: Shift your focus from what’s missing to what’s present by cultivating gratitude through journaling and expressing thanks.
  2. Cultivate Mindfulness: Experience greater present-moment awareness and reduce stress by practising mindfulness meditation and mindful eating.
  3. Identify and Use Your Strengths: Enhance your overall satisfaction and well-being by recognising and leveraging your unique strengths in daily life.
  4. Nurture Positive Relationships: Strengthen your connections with others and experience greater happiness through quality time and effective communication.
  5. Engage in Flow Activities: Find joy and fulfilment by immersing yourself in activities that induce a state of flow where time seems to stand still.
  6. Cultivate Self-Compassion: Treat yourself with kindness, understanding, and acceptance, especially in moments of difficulty or failure.
